Amity University Rajasthan organized Rajasthan Business Plan Competition

Amity University Rajasthan in association with Rajasthan Venture Capital Fund (RVCF)
organized "Rajasthan Business Plan Competition 2011" on 28th and 29th April 2011. The competition
aimed to promote and nurture the entrepreneurial abilities of the aspirants from different backgrounds
and to help them in realizing their ideas. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Ravi Mathur- Manager-
Technical at Rajasthan Venture Capital Funds (RVCF) and Mr. Gourav Chowdhary- Manager Investments
at RVCF.

A total of 62 plans were submitted for the competition out of which 34 shortlisted Plans were presented
from reputed institutions from all over the country like, BITS- Pilani, Delhi College of Engineering,
Jadavpur University- Calcutta, Arya Poddar Institute of Management, and Christ University – Banglore.
Apart from this major corporate also participated in the competition with their efficient plans.

Eminent personalities from the industry like Mr. Ashwin Bhatia, Founder Director of Cosmic Group of
Companies, Mr. Sourabh Gupte, Founder Director – Nutrino Technology and Mr. Umashankar Arora-
Enterpreneur in Oracal, Siemens and TCS participated as Judges.

Mr. Girish Gupta CEO Rajasthan Venture Capital fund was the guest of honor for the valediction function
of the competition and said that Amity University has provided an unparallel platform to people with
inventive and innovative business concepts he also appreciated all the plans and awarded the winners.

ICOMAP at Amity University Rajasthan

An International Conference on Management Perspectives (ICOMAP)
was organized by the Amity Business School (ABS), AUR on the 24th – 25th
March’ 11.

The conference started off with the Lamp lighting Ceremony by the Chief
guest Mr. Prateek Shrivastav, President, OGILIVY & MATHER and the
guest of honor, Mr. Sean Morris, CEO, Rajasthan Royals.

The dignitaries present talked about the leadership challenges faced in
today’s competitive world and also discussed the ways these problems could
be overcomed. They shared their views on the current scenario and also
advised the students regarding the same. Also, the ICOMAP Journal was
released by Mr. Prateek Shrivastav, Mr. Sean Morris and Dr. Raj Singh,
Vice- Chancellor, AUR.

Participants from different parts of the world presented their papers
and talked about challenges faced in the current business world and
their solutions. The next day session consisted of panel discussion and
presentation of papers by the delegates.
More than 100 papers were presented by academicians, research scholars
and industrial experts hailing from India and other countries China,
Australia, South Africa, Indonesia, etc.
The conference highlighted some major points like PUBLIC DEMAND,
ENVIRONMENT, MANAGEMENT PRACTICES, etc.
The valedictory function was attended by Mr. Babu Lal Nagar, Food- Dairy
and technical minister of Rajasthan, who also contributed to the function by
giving his valuable advice to the students and the authorities of AUR. He
also congratulated ABS for organizing the conference on such a level thus
giving the experts and relevant personnel a platform to share and discuss
their views.

National Moot Court Competition-Inaugural Ceremony

Amity Law School organized its first ever National Moot Court Competition (NMCC) on 4th and 5th of April. A total number of 22 teams from various esteemed law schools from across the country have participated. The numbers of participating teams are expected to rise in the coming years.
The event commenced with the welcoming of the chief guest, Justice Dalip Singh and the guest of honour, Sr. Advocate, N.M. Ranka . This was followed by the lamp lighting ceremony and the saraswati vandana. Our Vice chancellor took this opportunity to thank ALS for coming up with this idea and implementing it and he also said “legal professionals have an important role to play as noble professionals and they are the custodians of law “.
Followed by this the guest of honour, Mr. N.M. Ranka congratulated amity for its humanitarian step and in his enlightening and encouraging speech said that, “never feel that law is an overcrowded profession, there is always a place where you can reach the top, yet you should never forget that joining this noble profession  means, you need to serve the society.”
Followed by these words of wisdom , the chief guest, Justice Dalip Singh appreciated the topic and the agenda that was to be taken up and said that it was highly relevant in today’s time. He redefined justice and said that it was a much wider term which spread even beyond the court room and reached up to the “aam aadmi” .
