Jaipur, September 4: The teacher’s day was celebrated in Amity University Rajasthan with great pomp and show. The event kicked off with a welcome speech by the students. A variety of games were on cards for the teachers. Some dance and funky items were also presented by the students.
To mark respect to the gurus the students of AUR organized teacher’s day function at basket ball court here on Friday. The show started with an enchanting dance performance by the students from different courses. There were some games like onion peeling and cutting, one behind another, tail the donkey etc especially made for the faculty members.
The winner of ‘onion cutting’ director Amity business School, Prof. Muddu said, “I did that so fast because I always help my wife in the kitchen to make pakodas”. Young amitian ankita danced to the tune of ‘aaja nachle’ to entertain the audience.
The best part of the evening ‘Tail the Donkey’ the game for the Vice Chancellor, Directors, Deputy Directors and Registrar. The ‘modus operandi’ of the game was simple, the participant has to be blind folded and have to paste a tail on the sketch of a donkey, which had lost its tail in a mishap. Prof. Aseri and Prof. Lakhwi were judged joint winners of the game. While talking to The Amity Times Prof. Aseri said, “It was a very good and interesting game”. On the occasion Dy. Director Amity School of Communication Dr. Manish Verma said “I am enjoying a lot, students have made so many efforts to make the show successful I am thankful to all the students. Moreover, the events like these help in bridging the gap between the students and the teachers”.
The next game played by the teacher’s rather female teachers was “Fansi ka Fandaa”; the game was to tie knot. Teachers were divided in teams comprising of two members each; the game was won by Mrs. Jayati from ASCo and Miss Astha from ASL.
Everything was going when a student of ASE Yogita displayed her unique talent by singing a song in reverse order. Her performance made everyone puzzled. On the event a volunteer participant Mr. Rohan Singh said, “Winning and losing is part of the game. Some are victorious while others are gainers. As said by Maradona, “One never loses but gains what they could have done there and then”. The function finally came to an end with the best session called ‘honoring the faculty’. In this event students of journalism and mass communication honored the gurus with exciting tags and beautiful flowers as a token of love and respect. A petite DJ party was also organized by the students to celebrate the success of the event.

Message from the Hon’ble Chancellor
Today, we are celebrating the inaugural function of Sangathan which has animportant place in our annual calendar. Sangathan which is a celebration of Amity students from across all campuses, provides a forum for interaction, caring and sharing and togetherness for all Amitians. It is a time when we all come together year upon year and we can measure the growth of Amity by the size of the event which increases annually. With so many students participating from every corner of the nation and many foreign countries Sangathan is a good example of how Amity represents unity in diversity.
Mr. Aseem Chauhan
Chancellor
