Amity School of Communication –Amity University Rajasthan as part of its International Conference on Media inaugurated the two day workshop on “Securely Exchanging Information through Technology” on 2 March 2011 in association with DRC. USA. Mr. Derek Schatz an internationally acclaimed information security expert and technical leader with over fifteen years of experience in technical, operational, and managerial aspects of information security and privacy was the trainer for the workshop.

Mr. Derek Schatz thanked Amity University Rajasthan for co-hosting this workshop with DRC and appreciates the interest of the participants in learning about cyber security.

Vice Chancellor Amity University Rajasthan, Prof. Dr. Raj Singh said looking at the online threats today we really need to be equipped with strong defending skills, thus this workshop will really help the participants in exchanging information more securely.

The workshop provided explanation and solutions for threats faced in using information and communication technology for advocacy work. Around 25 delegates including Independent journalists, Bloggers, Human Rights groups and Non-profit managers from across India and abroad participated in the workshop.

Following the workshop Amity School of Communication is organised a first ever International Conference in India on “Changing Paradigms of Media Landscape in the Digital age: Issue and Perspectives (with special reference to rise of Social Media)”on 4th-5th March.
