Jaipur 6th May 2011. Amity University Rajasthan (AUR) organized “Impressions -Colours of Rajasthan 2011"- A Mega Fashion Show on the Theme – Rajasthan on 6th May at Birla Auditorium, Jaipur. The event was a musical and cultural journey of vibrant range of Rajasthani apparel showcasing different regions of this majestic land. C.E.O. ETV Rajasthan Mr. Jagdish Prasad Katil presided over the event.
Shri Aseem Chauhan - Chancellor (AUR) and Prof. Raj Singh Vice- Chancellor – (AUR) were also present for the event. The event aimed to promote the children of NGO Vatsalya and Disha. The Team of Rajasthan Royals were there to cheer the performances and interacted with the audience
Players of Rajasthan Royals, Students of Amity University along with professional model like Smita Sharma, Surabhi and many others walked on the ramp in traditional style showcasing the designs made by students of Amity School of Fashion Technology. Through their designs students tried to highlight the Tie & dye and Hand Block Prints of Marwar, Tribal look and Thewa Jewellery of Mewar, Bandhani, Block printing, Tarkashi, Zari, Gota, Kinari and Zardozi of Dhundhar and Leather articles, usta & chadwa art of Jangladesh.
Shree Aseem Chauham Hon’ble Chancellor AUR lauded the efforts of students of Amity School of Fashion Technology. He praised the initiative taken by the students and the role of Amity in fulfilling social responsibility and continuing efforts in social upliftment.
Dr. Sarita Singh commissioner women empowerment and child welfare, Ministry of Rajasthan said that it was a great effort by the students. She also said that in the show, creativity was blended with social cause.
Dr. Raj Singh Vice Chancellor Amity University Rajasthan said the student designers of Amity Institute of Fashion Technology created designs like professionals.
