ASCo STUDENTS ATTEND ANTI-TOBACCO CONFERENCE

1st May, 2010:“Journalist to Journalist” a caption of ‘India media centre for journalist’ under which an anti tobacco conference was organized at Jaipur palace hotel. This conference was chiefly arranged by the association members of Jaipur and Lucknow

Aiming at the increasing and dangerous growth rate of smokers and other tobacco consumers, all the dignitaries highlighted some eye opening facts and figures in favor of the anti tobacco mission. Eminent personalities from the different fields were invited there to present their views, like Ms. Dahiya, a lawyer came up with the legal aspects of the  mission, she guided the conference upon the acts and provisions provided by the law of India to get a control over this epidemic. ”from 30th may 2010 new rules and pictorial warnings will be in action to fight against the tobacco problem, and we hope that they will be followed and implemented strictly” said Ms. Dhaiya. 

Presenting the medical aspects of the problem Dr. Rakesh Gupta, a cancer specialist said” consumption of tobacco causes impotency in both male and female and also reduces the strength and stamina of an individual” while answering the question of the asco student he said that taxation on tobacco should be increased by 10% which will in return increase the revenue by 6% and decrease the purchase by 8%. So in that way it could be a good step to control it. 

Chief coordinator of the conference Mr. Jasvinder sehgal gave the vote of thanks and document folders as the token of remembrance to all the attendies.
