Amity, 7th September: Starting on a very optimistic note was the biotech quiz, aptly named “Biospectra-A Knowledge Vibgyor”, courtesy its seven outstanding teams, from every stream of Amity Institute Of Biotechnology. Commencing with the lighting of the lamp, the quiz started with a few inspiring lines from the quizmaster, and then quickly proceeded to the introduction of teams, and the rules and regulation.
Each round, apart from having some new rules, had been oddly labelled with names signifying various era’s the human race has gone through, i.e., the archaic age, etc. Some interesting questions, coupled with even better answers, did the job of having the audience glued, and sometimes in splits! Tempting the audience with chocolates as prizes was the audience questioning rounds, held after each quizzing round. The rounds got more exciting with one team being eliminated after every other round, setting the mode of “survival of the fittest”.
At the end of the fourth round, the stage then witnessed a fierce-but-tactical battle between the remaining four teams, fighting their way for the top three positions. The last round, as is seen in most of the quizzes was the “Rapid-Fire” round, which had the usual privilege of deciding the victorious, with each team having an option of answering ten questions, in sixty seconds. As was predictable from the score pattern of the previous rounds, Anuraj Dhankar, and Jiten Doshi from B.Tech (Biotech-5th Sem)-Sec.A, emerged victorious, with each being awarded a 2-GB pen drive, and a roaring amity clap from the audience.
Apart from few hitches and glitches, this quiz served its purpose of successfully establishing Amity Biotech Association(ABA), a brainchild of Dr.G.K.Aseri, Deputy Director, AIB. As was visible from the thanksgiving speech of a much contended Dr.G.K.Aseri, the quiz also set the stage for further interesting and innovative events from ABA.
